Paper One

This was my first college paper to write at Davidson. In this paper, I chose a difficult passage from the readings I had so far read within the Humanities Program. After choosing a passage, I then selected another author’s work that, through engagement with the secondary text, helped enlighten and explain this difficult passage from the other work, the primary text. Immanuel Kant’s “An Answer to the Question: What is Enlightenment” was the work that held my difficulty passage, and Plato, through his piece, “Allegory of the Cave”, helped lead to explanations and deeper understandings. I hope you enjoy the paper, as it was one that captivated my attention, and I enjoyed writing.
